Surahs and ayats to be recited before sleeping

Before retinng to bed, after reciting the du’ for sleeping , (see section 2), one should also recite Ayat al-Kursi [ 1561 thereafter the final two dyats of Sárat al-B aqarah

Thereafter, opening both hands as in du”á, recite the last three sárats of the Holy Qur’ân, and blow on the hands, then pass them over the body thrice, as far as

can reach. Start from the head then proceed to the then to the front portion of the body.

Also recite the following:

As-taghfirullãhal-ladhi lâ ilãha illâ huwal hayyul qayyüm wa atübu ilayh.

I seek forgiveness from Allah besides who there is no deity. He is Ever-Living and Self- Subsisting.(Tirmidhi)

Note: Whoever recites this dua his sins will be forgiven even if they are as much as the foam of the sea.

Then recite: Subhãnallah (Glor be to Allah), and Al-hamdulillãh (All praise is for Allah) thirty three times, then say: ‘Allâhu akbar’ (Allah is the Greatest) thirty four times.  (Bukhari)
